Credit Controller
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Credit Controller to join our Finance team.
Role Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective collections, processing receipts and debit orders, resolving customer queries, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage the Finance mailbox, ensuring queries and requests are dealt with promptly.
Manage the full debtors’ collection process, including telephone and email follow-ups.
Create and maintain customer debtor accounts on Sage X3.
Process and allocate customer receipts, debit orders and bank transactions accurately and timeously.
Prepare and distribute customer invoices, statements and supporting documentation.
Investigate and resolve invoice, payment and account discrepancies.
Process authorised credit notes and refunds in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain the Debit Order Master File and ensure new debit order clients are accurately captured.
Prepare and process debit order batches and monitor rejected debit orders.
Send monthly debit order notices and suspension notifications within required deadlines.
Follow up on outstanding accounts and escalate collection challenges to management when necessary.
Liaise with Sales and Technical teams to resolve customer and account-related issues.
Ensure all required documentation and approvals are obtained before processing credits, refunds and adjustments.
Ensure adherence to company Sales and Finance processes and internal controls.
Ensure Zendesk tickets assigned to the Credit Controller are resolved within the required SLA.
Prepare accurate debtors’ reports and provide management with relevant collection and account information.
Assist the Finance Department with other reasonable duties as required.
Qualifications Required:
Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
Credit Management qualification or experience will be an advantage.
Work Experience:
3–5 years’ Credit Control experience.
Experience in consumer and corporate collections.
Excellent Excel skills.
Experience working with Sage/X3, Pastel or similar financial systems will be advantageous.
