Quality Assurance offer
Metro Fibre is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Officer to ensure that all fibre network projects meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Role Summary:
This role is primarily field-based and involves inspecting installations, monitoring contractor performance, and driving continuous quality improvements across projects.
Responsibilities:
Implement and enforce quality assurance policies, standards, and procedures across assigned projects
Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications
Investigate site failures, identify non-conformance issues, and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Monitor fibre optic cable installations, ensuring correct handling, pulling tension, and adherence to bend radius guidelines
Resolve quality-related issues with internal and external stakeholders
Monitor contractor performance and drive improvements in quality delivery
Compile and submit detailed quality assurance reports
Analyze project data to identify trends and recommend process improvements
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and programmes
Identify and document non-conformance issues and ensure proper resolution
Support the review and enhancement of quality assurance policies and procedures
Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions
Prepare and present reports to management and project stakeholders
Qualifications Required:
Matric / Grade 12
Post-matric qualification in Quality Management
Valid driver’s license
Fibre certifications such as CFOT or COFI (advantageous)
Work Experience:
3–5 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance role within telecommunications, fibre, or civil works
Hands-on experience with fibre optic installations, testing equipment, and construction methods
Knowledge of health and safety procedures in telecoms or civil environments.
