Role Summary:

This is a full-time Legal Advisor role located in Centurion. The Legal Advisor will be responsible for providing legal advice, negotiating and preparing legal documents, attending to regulatory matters, compliance and legal risk management of the Company in its day-to-day
business and litigation management.

Responsibilities:

• Negotiating and drafting suitable contracts, terms and conditions, and related documents for MetroFibre within required timeframes.
• Accurately document all requirements and expectations in legal documents with a view to mitigating MetroFibre’s risk. Review documents received from third parties with a view to adequately mitigate legal risk.
• Draft, amend and update template documents and precedents.
  
• Ensuring that the Company stays abreast of all changes in the regulatory environment.
• Conducting extensive legal research as and when required.
• Communicating regulatory developments to relevant stakeholders.
• Ensuring that recommendations are made to the Company in respect of complying with legislation.
• Ensuring MetroFibre’s compliance with all applicable legislation.
• ICASA – timeously attend to ICASA reporting requirements. Ensure that company complies with ICASA rules regarding IECS and IECNS licensees.
• Support and maintain the compliance function.
• Facilitate Compliance Framework
• POPIA compliance, records retention management and serving as the Deputy Information Officer

Qualification Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• BCom Law Degree or LLB

Work Experience:

• 5 – 8 years commercial legal experience in corporate
• Admitted attorney
• POPI experience and Compliance experience required
• ICT sector would be preferable
