Role Summary

The primary focus of this role is to ensure the efficient and timely installation of MFN connectivity services within Nova areas, while maintaining network stability and resolving outages with urgency. The role involves overseeing installation and maintenance teams, subcontractors, and service providers, ensuring compliance with SLAs, and engaging with community stakeholders to safeguard network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee maintenance teams, subcontractors, and SMMEs to ensure quick turnaround on outage resolution.
  • Provide technical input to support network stability and engage stakeholders for alignment on activities.
  • Enforce quality assurance, preventative maintenance, and community engagement to minimize vandalism and network risks.
  • Investigate and resolve maintenance issues, recommending operational improvements where necessary.
  • Compile and submit daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance reports.
  • Provide technical support to accelerate outage resolution.
  • Support Senior Operations Manager in appointing efficient contractors/SSPs under strict SLAs with clear turnaround times.
  • Ensure effective communication between container staff and contractors to maximize penetration in Nova areas.
  • Collaborate with area specialists to drive community engagement initiatives (e.g., townhalls, activations).
  • Promote and implement a sell-and-install model to improve customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Foster positive working relationships between contractors, SMMEs, and community stakeholders.
  • Support end-to-end operations activities, from after sales through installation to customer activation.
  • Oversee preventative and reactive network maintenance, ensuring contractors and teams are well-equipped.
  • Manage contractors, SSPs, and SMMEs within Nova areas to maintain alignment and collaboration.
  • Allocate work fairly and strategically among community SSPs/SMMEs and resellers.
  • Maintain open communication lines between sales, operations, maintenance, ExCo, and community stakeholders.
  • Work closely with sponsors, business owners, service delivery, and maintenance teams to align deliverables.
  • Assist the Senior Operations Manager with contract drafting and reviews.
  • Maintain contractual records and enforce SLA compliance.
  • Monitor operational programs, track progress, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Drive daily program management and ensure SSPs/contractors actively drive penetration in local/emerging market areas.

Educational Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Post matric qualification in ICT, Fibre or related
• Valid Drivers License

Work Experience 

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Operations/Program Management/Installations within the ICT sector.
• Strong knowledge of the fibre business and ICT markets in emerging areas.
• Proven record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Demonstrated stakeholder management experience across diverse geographies.
• Previous sales experience in FNO/ISP/SSP environments. (Advantage.)
